Ever since my folks built this house about 60 years ago, our mailboxes were hit and destroyed by many cars that woukd just drive away.
This was an annoyance as we had to pick up the mail on the weekend, buy a new box and install it and restart delivery, and depending on weather, time of year and man power, it could be a few weeks before it was fixed.
It gets more expensive to replace the darn things. After a couple of months with repeatedly replacing mailboxes, i found Armadillo.
Back then creator came to the house and installed it.
It was hit three times after that and i am so happy to report it totalled two cars (they got three blocks down before the cars died), I had to replace the mailboxes on each of those, but the satisfaction their car bills were worse was worth it. The last accident it took off the
electronic side mirror on a fancy Fird 150,truck(again did not stop). That encounter only bent the side lip at the door to the mailbox, easily bent back into shape by a strong young man and a hammer and pliers. Again the satisfaction the driver had a much bigger bill lightened my heart.
If i ever move, i will be taking it with me!
